Stories With Seneca

After a long day of traveling camp and visiting different areas, I would bet I'm not the only one who feels a little relieved to hear that the evening program is a bunk night. Throughout both my camper and staff experiences, I have always viewed bunk nights as "family time;" a time to let loose and have fun with your core.

Tonight, S-2 dressed in matching outfits (jean bottoms and black tops) to film a music video for our "bunk song," Shower, by Becky G. If you ever find yourself walking by our Seneca cabin, you'll notice our bunk poster where the staff are drawn as shower heads, and the campers as loofas. And, more often than not, you'll hear Shower blasting through our speakers.

Not only is the song catchy, but it is a great representation of what we strive to be not only within the bunk, but also in the village and across camp. The chorus celebrates "dancing in the mirrors, singing in the showers" -- a commonality found throughout camp. I strongly believe that Camp Seneca Lake is the reason I've had the confidence to be loud, to dance in the mirror, and to sing in the shower throughout my life. I would love to believe that it has done the same for thousands of other people since 1928 and will continue to do the same for years to come.

Tune in to CSL's social media in the coming weeks to watch our S-2 ladies shine in their very own music video!!
