Last night, although emotional, was a great night in Seneca! Following the wonderful banquet put on by the Senior Campers, we changed into warm clothes and headed to the O-rec to enjoy Havdallah as a community and to watch the amazing Tikkun Olam video and photo slideshow from the whole first session.
Then in procession style, we made our way to the waterfront for the final campfire, where Emma Sinkoff spoke on behalf of Seneca. After the campfire we went back to the village for our own version of the final campfire. Alana Silbur got her guitar, and we sang songs together and cried and laughed as we reminisced about our summer.
Then we went to Tusc beach and had a fun luau-style party which we named 'Moh-eca' and combined Seneca and Mohawk for one final night this session. The kids enjoyed special food prepared by the kitched, music and an all around good time together until the wee-hours.
This morning was a tearful goodbye, but also a hopeful 'see you soon'--we hope to see all your girls at CSL next summer. Thanks for a great July session!
With love,
Rachel Kosoff, Seneca UH
