Poolapaloza

Hey Aquatics Lovers -

What and exciting two days at the pool. Fourth of July afternoon featured two packed periods of Free(dom) Swim during which hundreds of eager swimmers cooled off from the hot summer heat admits a festive atmosphere. Pop music was blaring, patriotism was displayed and good tea were had all around.

Yesterday morning featured the Tuscarora campers training for their end of the Sumer triathlon by undergoing a rigorous routine laid out by their staff. Each camper swam at least 300 meters, very impressive!

Today saw a return to the pool staffs normal routine. Onondaga began the day with lessons. I worked with my group on paper diving, techniques and elementary backstroke. When the lessons finished off we played a game of water nukeum during free time. Mohawk came next. M5 and M6 Vied for a top five spot on the camp-wide "best time board." After swimming Ariel, the pool director, lead the boys on a grueling abdominal work out. According to Jordan Samkoff "it was excruciating".
