Basketblog

Hello all!

My name is Alec Jacobson and I am the blogger for basketball hobby group! We are so excited to bring basketball hobby group back to CSL, and thus far, three hobbies in, we have had an absolutely spectacular time. With fifteen campers and five staff members, we have been doing lots of free play to give the campers a chance to get used to some live basketball action.
Just a few days ago we had night hobbies, and during this rare time, we began our basketball hobby group league! This was very exciting as it has never been done before in CSL history. To start off the league, we had a draft with Andrew Dunaif, Adam Moyer, Josh Hurwitz, and Scott Ansell acting as our team captains. After a quick and fair draft, we had two games featuring Hurwitz's squad vs. Dunaif's team, and Ansell's team vs. Moyer's. The first game, as mentioned above, was tied after the first ten minute half, an it came down to a buzzer beater that started with a Hurwitz pass to Jacobson, to Willie Cohen at the free throw line who found Jake Ryan under the hoop for a lay up with two seconds left, clinching the game. The next game also came down to the final buzzer, but in the end, it was Ansell's team featuring staff member Max Krieger that came out on top.
Next, we did a three point competition with all the villages acting as separate teams. Although everybody put up a good fight, it was the Mohicans who brought home the win. This hobby, so far, has been sensational and the kids are undoubtedly learning an incredible amount about the game. We are very excited about the upcoming hobby sessions and we will keep all you readers at home in the loop!

For now,
Alec Jacobson
