Mohawk Moments

Good evening friends

There were a lot of exciting things happening in the village of Mohawk today. While our youngest and middle campers remained away on their epic tiyulim camp out, the two oldest bunks of the village certainly got after it. It was another scorcher out there, but that could never hinder our efforts to have a busy, fulfilling day. In the morning, both M-5 and M-6 enjoyed spending time with our Judaica head, Joy Newman while playing some festive Jewish monopoly games. This was followed by a much needed and well deserved hour at the pool.

Just when we all thought things couldn't get any more "heated", the afternoon was recapped with an M-5 vs M-6 softball match up. Highlights from the game included a phenomenal catch from M-5's Bryan Garson and two runs batted in from M-6's Rich Tamblin. For village night, the two bunks decided to put the athletic rivalries on the back burner and work together for one incredible experience. Along with placing personal items in a time capsule, these proud young men sat down to begin the designing process of the 2012 oldest Mohawk plaque. Words can not describe how excited this observer is to see the final outcome of that project.

I hope all of you out there enjoyed the Independence day festivities and that we get to see you on visitor's day in a few weeks.

Thanks for reading, M-5 counselor, Mike Lape
