Exciting day at ropes today!!! This morning, we had our young Senecan lasses choose from three different activities. The Catwalk saw girls battling one-on-one to the bitter end while balancing on a wooden log 30 feet in the air (no one was harmed in the making of this activity). A few feet away, girls on belay hoisted their bunkmates to the same height in our teambuilding ativity aptly named 'The Flying Squirrel.' But the activity which built the most trust was our Pamper Pole (given that name as it is oh-so-scary), which had our lovely Senecan girls climbing to the top of a 40 foot telephone pole. Once at the top, in a leap of faith, they jumped off the top of the telephone pole as their friends were on the ground belaying them.
The afternoon brought a group of Cayugans that were predominantly new to camp. After a short team exercise focusing on communication, we sent them 30 feet in the air up our catwalk and on our climbing wall. Everyone had a blast; not one person was left behind, regardless of how long everything took.
