Dear CSL Community:
I am excited to share with you that we have hired long time CSL camper and staff member, Andrew Powers, to be our Mohawk Unit Head for CSL 2015! Andy has spent many summers at Camp, starting in 2002 when we became the youngest of the Powers children to attend CSL. He spent every summer, all summer, at Camp through 2013 when he was a Tuscarora counselor. In 2014, Andrew spent the first part of the summer working in NYC, before returning for the final weeks of last summer. Andrew is one the most patient, positive, and hardworking staff members we have ever had, and the boys and men of Mohawk should be ecstatic to have him as their leader this summer.
Andrew, a native of Ithaca, NY, spent his high school years at the Gunnery School where current Associate Director, Ari Baum, was a teacher. From there, Andrew matriculated to Cornell University where he will soon graduate with a degree in Applied Economics and Management. At the conclusion of the summer, Andrew will return as a consultant for Ernst and Young in New York City.
Is Andrew ready for this summer? Here’s what he had to say about his appointment as Mohawk Unit Head. “It's hard for me believe that I will be returning to CSL as the Mohawk Unit Head for the Summer of 2015. Mohawk is the village I grew up in, and after a brief hiatus from camp this past year, there is no place I would like to return more. I know that it will be an incredible summer. All I have left to say is, CSL — watch out for the Hawk.”
We are incredibly lucky to have someone of Andrew’s caliber returning to CSL and Mohawk in 2015.
All the Best,
Aaron Cantor, Director
