Shabbat Thoguhts from Cameron

We ascribe value to this party with our desire, want, yearning to engage in the experience of Shabbat and become closer to G-d. The idea of a wedding is fitting in this context because of the community aspect of our Shabbat experience at CSL. On Shabbat, we inform ourselves of the value of communal prayer, but also of a personal, intimate relationship with Hashem. It becomes incumbent upon us to meditate on these things and choose how to value that which is priceless.

But then we must think about our perspective, which is as the thematic quote correctly states, must come from beyond. To understand this we must look to the roots of the word persepective, which literally means to see the hole in the wall, it is necessary that we take a step back and recognize the following:

  • You are not seeing the entire party, but that the rest of the experience is grand
  • That we are each viewing Shabbat through different vantage points and that it will not look the same to all.
  • That we cannot successfully value without perspective and we cant have perspective without value
Shabbat Shalom,
Cameron Isen
