A message from The Fridge!

Okay so, now the dust is officially starting to settle from the insane whirlwind of production work that has been flying through the media office, also known as The Fridge, I had a thought today (Wednesday). It was mostly after Elliott managed to strike up a conversation with me. It was also after I heard Cameron laughing from his corner and at that moment I noted how hard those boys have been working since they arrived here. There has been concentrated silence, accompanied by frustrated sighs and muffled yawns each day (and night) building up to the next deadline. A sigh of relief and then their heads are back down again to repeat the whole thing.

It may seem as though wandering about with a camera, or piecing film together next to the AC machine, are easy jobs but, these boys have come a long way since the start of the session. We watch as the campers evolve and better themselves as people and within their skill sets. The majority of the time we can reflect on this through the short films that are churned out from The Fridge, but I get to see first hand how two of my friends have grown and have maybe even altered their choices on what to do after camp and university. I feel pretty privileged to have seen that  and always love the sense of achievement that is in the office when we have completed a deadline. Well, in actual fact, they don't feel relieved until they have shown whichever film to all of you! Even then they are still critical of themselves and their work, they always notice things that they want to tweak or do better, which I think is admirable and shows how hard working they really are.

I have also got to watch a bromance evolve, which is so lovely, cute and hilarious all at the same time! They work in sync and they have a new addition, Jack, so now it's more like watching Alvin and the Chipmunks sift through all of the hilarious moments they have captured of you all, and then get their heads down and make something for you remember your time here by. Which, in my opinion, is pretty priceless!

I love watching people work together and I wrote this blog because none of you get to see it first hand. I also wrote this blog because I think that they deserve recognition, multiple high fives and lots of fist bumps for all the crazy hours they have spent on developing the media at CSL. There are bigger projects on the way but I have absolutely no doubt that they will go through the same process they always do and then realize how good they are at their jobs, I just wait for them to notice that - they always get there in the end!

So, in the words of Forest Gump, that's all I have to say about that!
