My name is Andrew Dunaif and this summer I will be working at Athletics and in Mohawk. Staff orientation just started 3 days ago but it feels like I have been here forever. I am so excited for the campers to return home and come down camp road. This is my 6th year at CSL and I have driven down camp road numerous times but this year things felt extremely different. It is my first year as a staff member and it has already been a scintillating experience. Today the staff members were assigned to their hobby groups for a workshop. Typical to the CSL mantra, we ran our hobbies beautifully, even in the pouring rain.
This summer I have been blessed with the opportunity to work at pit cooking with some amazing individuals. Our pit masters Zach Sherman, Nate Grossman, and Sophie Wiener have taught me so much already and we've only been working together for a few hours. I'm also grateful to be able to work with Jake Henning and Abe Schwid who are both skilled in the many components of pit cooking. We are currently making chili and it smells incredible. This summer seems as if it will be the best one in CSL history. There are many new faces here and each individual in camp brings something special with them that will make this magical place even better.
As counselors it is our job to give back to the campers and recreate the experiences that camp gave us and come June 29th, that will definitely happen. You will most definitely be hearing from us winsome men of Mohawk again and if you were wondering, yes, the pit cooking staff does cater.
