Stories With Seneca

As I woke up at 11 the day after the July session came to a close, I immediately watched the July session video we first watched during closing ceremonies. This time as I watched the amazingly accurate depiction of CSL, I felt a serious sense of pride. As counselors it is our job to create a memorable and fun environment for our campers. However, the video captured the special spirit that goes beyond the simplicity of "fun ." The smiles show the amazing energy only CSL can provide.

As I reflect deeper about the July session, I think about not only the significant days like mass program or fight song, but how my girls in S-3 grew so much because of both special and ordinary (if there are such) days at camp. I saw my girls grow into stronger young women that became independent as the session went on. It isn't easy to live with so many of your peers for 4 weeks straight and spend 100% of your time with them, but my girls proved that with the right attitude anything can be fun and meaningful.

There is often talk that the August session brings a different feel than July. All I know is the magic of CSL will carry throughout the summer, as well as the entire year. It is impossible not to be impacted for the better by Camp Seneca Lake
