For those of you who do not know me, my name is Jilli Underberg, and I am an oldest Senecan counselor. This is my 11th summer at camp, and my 5th summer spent in Seneca -- clearly, I can't get enough!
The August session is off to an incredible start. This group of girls is so energetic, spirited, and positive, it's hard to believe they just arrived two days ago. This year, we have a handful of ladies who have never experienced CSL before, and we are so excited to have them! New faces are what makes Seneca so amazing. Currently, this village is at its full capacity, with 70 girls and almost 20 staff members. It's so exciting to see such a large group of ladies growing and laughing together -- not to mention how loud we are in the dining hall!
On the last day of the July session, Saturday morning Shabbat services were held in the beautiful new location oldest Seneca, Mohawk, and Tusc constructed in July for Tikkun Olam. Everything went perfectly, and Saturday services will continue here this week!! We are all very excited for the August campers to experience this peaceful and natural location.
Today is sure to be a great day at CSL, and I am absolutely confident the rest of the session will be great, too. Again, thank you so much for giving us your girls for the next 3 weeks -- we can already tell that they are all amazing young women, and we are so eager to spend more time with them!
