From Monterey, CA

Hello to my CSL family!

Right now I am driving down the Pacific Coast highway on my way to a wedding in Big Sur, CA. My cousin, (a CSL alum) is getting married! As beautiful as the ocean is, I can't help but think of the scenic shores of Seneca Lake that I get to call home for 8 weeks. I had a nice school year, but I am as excited as the kids to start my summer.  Every year at about this time, I am winding up at my job as a school psychologist in a Rochester city high school.  It is a little stressful packing up and getting to camp orientation on the same day my school job ends and my friends always ask me if I am sure it is worth it. My answer is always the same - I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it!

Not everyone gets the privilege to return to CSL, and I am thrilled to be spending my 20th summer at camp this year! This year the transition between school and camp will be a little bit trickier because my daughter will become a Bat Mitzvah on the day after school ends and camp orientation begins!

I am looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of the campers as they get out of cars and run off the buses toward their equally excited counselors to start the best summer of their lives.  I have the privilege to watch over the campers, help guide the staff, and be there as a support for the parents.  I am a lucky woman!

See you soon!!

Here I am at the Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, CA. Where has your color war t-shirt been?
