The Pine Tree Post

As much as I love working at Ropes as an activity counselor, it comes with its share of regrets.  I can never get to know my campers as well as the bunk counselors I work with, and I often miss the little things that occur during periods that end up making their summer.  Today was no exception; Brian, my co-counselor in C-3, told me of the amazing time they had at athletics and waterfront, and I was almost jealous of him. Cayuga in general has been very well behaved and has had quite a successful summer thus far, and it seems as if it will only get better as the kids continue to gel with one another and their staff.

However, I was glad to be with them for the Younger PUP that night.  The programming team, including Cayuga counselors Jake Ryan and Logan Amstey, had the kids spend a half hour building forts out of various materials, then had each team protect its own fort from a bombardment of soccer balls and footballs thrown by the other teams.  The well-planned and –executed program was enjoyed by both the staff and the kids, though the latter definitely enjoyed it more.

That's all from Cayuga!
