Shabbat Shalom!
This morning's discussion groups were great. Thanks to everyone who helped lead them!
Youngest Onondaga and Cayuga acted out classic Jewish stories. Middle Onondaga and Cayuga evaluated Jewish ethical dilemmas, and Oldest Onondaga and Cayuga put together puzzles of the world and learned about the Jewish concept of Tikun Olam, our obligation to help repair the world and put it back together. Youngest Mohawk and Seneca played two truths and a lie before talking about privacy and respect, Middle Mohawk and Seneca played a game about "crossing the line" and evaluated how and when we each cross lines without thinking, without bad intention, and how we can each work towards being the best version of ourselves, while Oldest Mohawk and Seneca explored the essence of Shabbat through silent group art. Tusc wrote ethical wills about what they might want to leave to their beloved CSL community, and the LITs explored which aspects of Jewish and camp traditions they would most want to pass down to future generations.
A beautiful, sunny, thoughtful end to a wonderful summer of learning, reflection, and growth.
