Mohawk Moments

Hello!

Today is Mohawk Day. This is when our village leaves camp for an awesome field trip to different places.

This morning we got to sleep in until about 9:00, and then we had a delicious breakfast consisting of french toast sticks and cereal. We then left the village to go to the O-Field, where our counselors had a special morning planned for us.

When we got down to the field, there was a sick Mohawk Carnival. My bunk counselor Shram built a sker-ball game out of the wooden planks from our beds. We had to score at least 150 points to get candy. Jonah set up a fortune telling stand in our athletic shed, where he came up with crazy and imaginative fortunes. There was sock wrestling fights and LARP games with Cameron. We bobbed for apples and played Greased Watermelon - where they grease watermelons and we played water polo with them. For lunch, we had hot dogs and watermelon. Then we left camp on the bus for about an hour ride to Rochester.

We stopped at the Seneca Park Zoo first.  here we had an awesome time. We saw monkeys, rhinos, elephants, tigers, wolves, penguins, polar bears and lions. My group went to the baboon enclosure, where we could have stayed for days because they were so hilarious. They were doing some hardcore parquor on swings and branches. The King baboon declared a fight when he jumped onto another monkey and they all started going crazy. They started screaming and fighting each other and then they ran under a cave. The zoo was really cool and we had a sick time.

Our next stop was at Adventure Landing. We fought each other with hundreds of balls, played arcade games, and played mini golf. Alex Massa and Neil Richardson won countless jackpots for us, and the tickets came flying out. After jamming the ticket counting machine about 15 times, we finally had around 10,000 tickets. We decided on trading in our earnings for a slurpie-making machine for the village. For dinner we ate sandwiches and granola bars.

we left Adventure Landing for a Red Wings Game at Frontier Field. We're at the game right now with the Red Wings winning, and there are fly balls flying everywhere in the crowd. These teams really need to practice more. Our counselors are having so much fun looking up the players and making fun of them. Justin Cuddeback is having a little too much fun uploading pictures of the sky onto the camp's Instagram.

Our unit head Greg Kreitzer and our counselors are awesome at planning our bunk nights and village days.

Until next time,
