Junior Sports Zone

Rainy days cannot put a damper on the younger campers spirits! 22 Cayugans and Onondagans tied their sneakers tight for the games to begin. We started with a warm up of Blitzball, a passing game with a whistle delegating the direction of the ball. This was funny to the kids as the ball's direction switched and they were instructed to spin in circles or run to the other side of the group. After water breaks we returned to the much loved game pf Ga-Ga, but with a twist. Each camper had a partner, group A would start off, and when he or she was out, his or her partner would sub in- continuous Ga-Ga. The next version of Ga-Ga involved remembering your "killer." Once the person who got you out became a victim as well, you along with the hit list, returned to the game. Revenge Ga-Ga resulted in being continuous also. Moving from the hockey courts to the S-field we ended our session with Scatterball. Similar to dodgeball, Scatterball differs in its no team, no boundaries, and revenge-style features. The campers started to really shape and form the ideas of teamwork and sportsmanship in tonight's session.
