Eilon Yaholm, Pool Specialist (Karmey Yosef, Israel)













How did you end up in America working at a summer camp?
Eilon: I signed up at a Jewish agency camp for newly released soldiers and I was chosen by john Golden.

What did you do before you came to camp?
Eilon: I was in a special combat unit and artillery brigade fighting for Israel.

What are you planning on doing after camp?
Eilon: I am going to travel the U.S. for a month then going back to Israel and getting a job.

What do you do at camp?
Eilon: I work at the pool; I am a lifeguard and teach swimming lessons for Cayuga and Onondaga.

What is your favorite part of camp?
Eilon: My favorite part of camp is Waterfront because I have never sailed before and I was given the opportunity to learn how to do this activity.

Have you ever been to the United States before?
Eilon: I have traveled the East coast before and I also had the chance to work with children at a JCC in New Jersey.

What do you want to leave camp having done?
Eilon: I just want to have an effect on the kids. I want them to leave knowing how to swim and feel good about themselves.
