The Tusc Tell-All

Monday morning we woke up nervous to bike around our very own Seneca Lake. After breakfast we all grouped up at the bottom of Camp Road and began biking. A couple hours after we left camp it started to pour. Despite the painful raindrops we all persevered and continued to bike. We finally made it to our camp site on the lake and settled in. After watching a beautiful sunset we had dessert and went to bed.

We got an early start on Tuesday morning to try and beat the storm that was threatening to blow our tents away. After fueling our legs with bagels, cereal and fruit, we set off for Watkins Glen. The rain we encountered that day was nothing compared to the violent needle like drops that hit our faces, arms, and legs on Monday. We kept ourselves in high spirits laughing, chatting, and practicing our fight song (get ready, it's sick). Watkins Glen welcomed us with an amazing surprise: Ben and Jerry's ice cream! Phish Food, Americone Dream and Chunky Monkey are flavors we recommend. We took a very scenic route up Watkins Glen to our campsite where we spent an awesome night together.

On Wednesday morning we woke up to eggs and bagels before the last leg of our trip. We were all nervous after hearing rumors of the trip being mostly uphill, but we were all very eager to get back to camp so we headed out. We took a snack break halfway through and were surprised with pizza and soda delivered by Ari! The last few miles to camp road were super exciting. All of us were motivated to finally see the sign. When we arrived at the top of the road we all started cheering "BIKE THE LAKE" and then got on our bikes to breeze down camp road with a feeling of accomplishment.

We can't wait for what the rest of the July session has to offer,
