Pine Tree Post

Pre-Shabbat shower hour is an interesting time in Cayuga. With the Sabbath dinner only minutes away, the mad scramble for cleanliness begins. Why is this night different to all other nights? C-6 camper Ethan puts it best - "We can actually shower." Believe it or not, these Cayugans actually want to shower! For those camp alumni reading this, that may be quite a change from the Cayugan days of old. These days kids are lining up along the bathroom walls waiting eagerly to snatch up the next open shower.

Come Shabbat shower hour, the village gets even more hectic than during a mass monkey. Every shower is on, kids are in the middle of the village throwing baseballs and footballs, others are inside freshening up for their much anticipated Shabbat walk dates, and still more are singing along to Frozen while combing their hair. C-4 camper Alex says that he is singing along "..so that I'm more prepared for the night ahead of me." Onondagans, watch out for this one.

Cayuga is definitely ready for the Sabbath. Are you?
