Stories of Shoes: Crocs

The waterfront is a signature activity area at camp and therefore campers must have a sturdy pair of water shoes. The shoes that dominate in this area are none other than the fad that was, Crocs. Yes, Jibbits have come and gone but Crocs have still remained a possession of many around the world. Their closed heel and toe structure allows for maximum comfort and protection while in the water. Campers also choose to walk around in their Crocs to other activity areas, especially in the rain.

At the waterfront one can sail, kayak, canoe, waterski, and much more. All of these activities involve campers entering Seneca Lake. Crocs can protect their feet from zebra mussels as well as other sharp objects in the water. Their rubber finish allows for immediate drying once campers leave the water. There is nothing Sam Chussid enjoys more than seeing a waterfront full of crocs. Therefore, following sneakers, Crocs are the next most important shoe at camp.
