When we got there, the girls carried their belongings as well as our tents and food to the campsite. We set up all of the tents and got settled while the girls assigned to cooking duty helped Hannah, a member of the Tiyulim staff, prepare grilled cheese for lunch. After everyone was properly fed, we took a 2 hour hike in the woods. We told jokes and stories as we walked, and the girls became less separated by bunk and started making new friends.
After the hike, we had downtime in the campsite. The girls were extremely creative with how they spent this time. Some of them created a cloud watching club! We made our own pizzas for dinner and made s'mores for dessert before the girls went to bed after this extremely tiring day.
This campout was an incredible experience, and all of the girls had an awesome time! I loved being able to watch them experience a new part of our world while creating lasting bonds.
