I'm sitting on the porch, looking out at Mohawk field on another rainy day at CSL. Water is accumulating in rivulets on the baseball diamond, and a somber hue has descended from the sky onto the trees, goalposts, and wood scattered around my surroundings.
This is in stark contrast to the buzz of energy coming from the C Rec behind me. Inside this small building at the edge of the field, oldest mohicans are playing games centered around teamwork and cohesiveness.
The yells and cheers from our low ropes session remind me of opening day. Everyone was psyched to be back at camp. From before the campers even arrived to the campfire in Mohawk at the end of the night, the whole camp was absolutely ecstatic.
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, all of these moments set the tone for the entire session. So far they have been packed with boundless energy, and I expect nothing less from the rest of August.
