CSL Community,
One of our recent blogs also had an anecdote about dancing at camp but whatever. Here goes another one. I always love dancing at camp. Whether in the Dining Hall, the O-Rec, after an evening program, at a Peter Frampton concert, the list of dance locations is endless! My dance moves are awkward if not plain terrible and I belt out the lyrics very out of tune. Interestingly enough, I don't like the music most of time. I'm not really one for pop music. But I love the energy. For me, it is about creating memories and positive experiences out of something you may not necessarily enjoy in other contexts or feel comfortable doing. In my opinion, this is a microcosm of what camp is.
For the past two years I've spent my camp time in Mohawk, being both a bunk and activity counselor. My experience there was extremely fun and rewarding but coming into this year I felt as if I were to return I would need to challenge myself. Mohawk had become too comfortable. Without a doubt I'll miss my boys out in the 'Hawk but I am excited for what awaits me in Tusc. This last week we have been crafting programs and outlining the fabric of the Tusc program and it has already proven to be very different to the way I have approached my summers as staff in the past. I am confident that this wonderful staff and I will be able to create impact and lasting experiences for each and every young adult joining us this summer.
I'll leave with one question; How about the 54 of you hurry up and get here already?!
