The Tusc Tell-All

As I drove down the road to Tuscarora on Monday morning, I looked around and realized nothing had changed (except for the new bathrooms, which are pretty spectacular) since I was a senior camper in 2008. The tents were all in the same place, the ground was still muddy, and the trees still seemed to provide the perfect amount of shade.

Having spent the past 14 summers at camp, not only did my summer in Tuscarora provide me with my fondest memories, but it also played a major role in who I am as a person today. That summer pushed me to my limits; mentally, physically, and emotionally, and truly helped build my character. It was no wonder why I so desperately wanted to spend another summer out in Tusc

I have spent the past few days, planning, brainstorming, bonding, and just being weird with the staff and I know that this summer is going to be amazing. The people that I am so lucky to work with are all so unique, and bring something so special to the village. Some are athletic, some funny, some artistic, some just weird; but one thing we all have in common is how much we care. I feel as if Tuscarora has impacted us all so much, and we want to leave an impact on our campers. From opening ceremonies, to evening activities, so much thought and attention has been put into planning out the perfect programs to help our campers get as much out of Tuscarora as they possibly can. I know that we all hope the campers of Tusc 14 make the most of every day at camp, and use it as a time to have fun, make memories, and grow. They will be pushed to their limits, face daily challenges, build new friendships, and hopefully have the best summer of their lives.

See you guys soon,
