Hawk Talk

After this summer, five out of the nine years that I have come to camp will have been spent in the the great village of Mohawk. For those doing the math at home, that means more than half of all the time that I have attended CSL will have been spent in the 'Hawk.

One might surmise that this would make traditional Mohawk events routine, yet after four basketball marathons and four seasons of MNL I can proudly say that these events have become everything but conventional.  Like a fingerprint, each session puts its own spin on these events, as the youngest campers are taught the ropes and the oldest and middle campers enter a new position of leadership for their younger brothers. With each new year, as the oldest campers move on to Tusc, and as the youngest campers move up from Cayuga, a unique identity is formed. As staff members, all that we can do is plan the events and hope for the best, the identity of the 2014 Mohawk village is officially in the hands of the campers.

If any Mohican's are reading this at home, I am officially challenging you to bring the fun and make this the best summer of you lives....because why not?

It is truly in your hands.
