Pine Tree Post

Hey everyone,

Staff orientation is in full swing as we prepare for our campers to arrive on Sunday. We've already moved into our cabins, canoed across the lake, and learned how to salsa dance, in only 2 days. The vibe here in Cayuga is phenomenal even after such a short amount of time, foreshadowing incredible things to come.

This is my first year as a staff member after not being able to return last summer. Although I am not a camper anymore, I can't help but feel like I'm back in Cayuga with my bunk mates 8 years ago. The atmosphere, even during orientation, is so great that when we are in meetings or listening to safety lectures I still feel like I am having fun and enjoying the summer like a kid.

Camp is unique in this way, creating a place where the staff truly are enjoying themselves and want to be here. Hopefully this positive attitude will be apparent to the campers when they drive down Camp road, and encourage them to get after it this summer.

Cayuga is set up to have one of its best summers yet. Us staff are connecting with eachother with suprising ease, and the general attitude of the village is one of excitement and anticipation. Campers, get ready for the summer of your lives.
