Dear CSL,
I'm Rachel Cohen, and I'm a Waterfront activity counselor in Onondaga. It is my first summer as a staff member at CSL, but I've been a part of the CSL community for the past 7 summers. I am in love, both with this place and the people that inhabit it, and I am beyond excited for CSL 2014. After traveling to Israel with CSL last year, I am so happy to be back at camp. Seeing all of my old friends and walking through the paths and roads I know so well has been incredible. I missed this place so much.
Since arriving at camp on Sunday, we have been extremely busy preparing for our campers. This morning, I worked at the waterfront. We sat on the party boat and had a discussion about sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. It has been wonderful getting to know all of the Waterfront Staff. We are so excited to have campers to share the boats with us!
The best part of these past few days has definitely been spending time with the Onondaga staff. All of the counselors are amazing, and they are really passionate about both camp and Onondaga. They are considerate, kind, and intelligent. We are all so excited for the girls to come, we are counting down the minutes! We finally have all of the beds in order, and we're working on getting the bunks clean. All of the staff have welcomed me with open arms. Coming into this summer, I was unsure about what being a counselor would be like; however, after all that I have experienced this week, I am confident that this summer is going to be one of the best Onondaga has ever seen. C'mon girls! The time is coming!
