Hawk Talk

Welcome to Mohawk!
Arriving at CSL felt different this year; after three years working in Cayuga, I was assigned to Mohawk as a bunk counselor for the first time - presenting a new set of challenges that I have never encountered before. Walking into the village, I can only picture the crazy eccentricity that will occur when it’s filled with five bunks of campers. It’s been six years since I last experienced camp as a camper (unfortunately at different camps), but I still remember what it was that made everything worthwhile.
The thrill of conquering every part of the ropes course.
The crazy cheers we’d randomly start in the dining hall.
The 6 hour conversations about nothing..
The privileges of being an older camper allowing us to Get After It.

  • But most importantly, none of this was achievable for us without some of the best staff I ever had as a camper, some of which still act as role models for me to this day.

I feel the pressure of living up to my own past staff – and the Mohican staff of all past summers – to give my campers the best possible summer.  Though I may be new to the ’Hawk, I believe I can do this for my kids.
After all, I’m always up for a new challenge.
