We love the rain here at Camp Seneca Lake. As the first full
day of periods commenced, the day ran just as smoothly in the rain as it would
in the sun! Campers embraced the weather during the regularly scheduled
periods, as well as enjoying some mud sliding and ravine running in between
their activities.
For the first time ever, Tikkun Olam took the form of
periods where oldest Onondaga created dream catchers to hang from trees, oldest
Mohawk designed blueprints to build enough benches to fit 400 people, and
middle Mohawk constructed the path that leads from the high ropes course to the
new Tikkun Olam spot. Once completed
with all of the projects (i.e., benches, bimah, decorations, fences, etc.) the
spot will serve as our new Saturday morning Shabbat location where we can hold
services and gather as a community. We
are very excited that this project is now underway!
Tonight’s evening programs consist of bunk nights for the
younger villages and a PUP about monsters and zombies for Mohawk and
Seneca. We can’t wait to see how the
rain will add to the fun!
