Shoshi Goldman, Tusc 2013

Dear CSL,

We leave a lot at camp. By the end each session the lost and found is overflowing with towels and clothes that will never be claimed. There might be an occasional shoe forgotten under our beds or a poster left hanging on the wall of our cabins that won't be found until the next summer. We leave a different kind of thing at camp as well. We leave our voices there. We scream until we can't and sing until the day the  buses come to take us home. We leave our strength there. We pull with all our might during a game of red vs. blue tug of war and every year the senior campers push through the triathlon until they reach the finish line. Most importantly we leave our legacies there. We cover every inch of the dining hall with our names whether they're  scribbled in sharpie on the  walls and tables or they're  immortalized on one of the many plaques that we often find ourselves gazing at during meals. But nobody leaves camp empty handed. Aside from our heavy trunks and duffles, we all leave camp with enough memories to last a lifetime.
