From the Associate Program Director's Desk

Many campers, staff, and alum consider Camp Seneca Lake to be their "home away from home". It is a place to get away from the stress and hustle and bustle of the "real world". However I have found that the line between the supposed "real world" and CSL has blurred. After spending many summers both at CSL and not, I have found that the distinction is arbitrary.

How is our time spent away from CSL any more real than our time at Seneca Lake? Campers and staff alike hope that the 10 months away from Camp will speed by so the 2 short months we have will come sooner. As soon as you turn onto Camp Road you hope that your time there will go by as slowly as ever.

Every year plenty of articles are published in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal about how going to sleep away camp is a character building experience for everyone involved. I cannot wait to see what developments and experiences that those who participate in CSL bring back to the "real world."
