As I made my way down Camp road for the first time, I had no idea what to expect. The anticipation of spending the next eight weeks here overwhelmed me with a mix of emotions. Ari Baum and Andy Powers, both of whom I met while in boarding school at The Gunnery, had told me great things about Camp Seneca Lake. But at the same time, I felt nervous entering a new place with unfamiliar people. My first couple of days were filled with learning how to operate the low and high ropes courses. I met people from all facets of camp, and tried my best to remember everyones name.
After being here for a little under a week, I quickly noticed that CSL is an extremely tight knit community. Many councilors and senior staff have been a part of the camp for years. It was and continues to be apparent that everyone here is very passionate about their time at CSL, and strives to offer the same experience to current campers. I look forward to having a great summer and I am hopeful that one day I will be able to look back on my time here in the same nostalgic way that everyone else does.
