Color War 6

The morning started out by all of camp meeting in front of the dinning hall wearing their colors. Before breakfast a tee off event took place. Members of each team had to hit a golf ball into the flagpole area. This was a silent meal, which means points were taken away when members talked. Teams then had time to meet and strategize for Conquer The Waterfront. Conquer The Waterfront was set up similarly to a track meet. This was very exciting but also nerve wracking. In an hour and fifteen minutes the staff canoed from one part of the lake and back. The waterfront centipede was also a cool event. Boats were tied together and teams had to work together and row at the same time to get around the ski dock. Tusc campers swam in and carried pinnies and each team had to put them on as quickly as possible. Later on they received high socks. In the afternoon there were creative and athletic events. It rained on and off but it didn't affect the spirt, it only increased the intensity. Then the iron man and woman event took place. All of camp cheered on the athletes as they completed a very difficult event. The Fire Race at the waterfront was also very exciting. Younger campers collected kindling, then mohawk and seneca campers passed down logs from a row boat in the water to the shore. Senior campers and staff built up the fire and had to get it to move to where a stand with balloons was and have the fire pop them. All but one balloon was popped for red and blue still had many that needed to be popped by the fire. At the end blue was able to build up there fire and quickly become victorious. Showdown at the o-rec was run much differently than in previous years. The acts were broken up to be performed on different days. Camp then had tug of war in the dark. The rope was lit and campers wore glow sticks around their necks. Campers then went back to villages and went to sleep for the night. There is much more to come tomorrow!
