Hi, this is Jack Teitel, leader of the archery hobby group. Today was the first day of hobbies and all the campers were excited to begin their archery experience. They exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds; they were all fantastic. To begin with, the campers braved the not-quite-so exciting safety talk with open minds and happy smiles on their faces. Soon, we were able to move onto the fun stuff: shooting pointy sticks at big round blocks of Styrofoam. All the campers showed extraordinary ability for first time shooters. The amount of skill the campers developed in just a single session was amazing! In the coming weeks we will be working to hone these already impressive skills, playing a variety of archery based games as well as having several tournaments to show just how their skills are progressing. I cannot wait to see how these skills will develop in the next nine sessions to come. Culmination, a final archery tournament, will truly be a sight to see.
