Today is Sunday, but camp continues to run. Outside the gates of CSL, most businesses close for the day; people in town attend religious gatherings. Although it is the weekend and we would not have school today, Sunday is no different than any of the weekdays at CSL.

With the week's setup (where Saturday is the only unusual day), CSL community strays from the normal societal rhythm and moves toward a more historic, Jewish rhythm. In this historic rhythm, only one day of the week is used for rest, which is to accomodate religious practices.

Though just one day of the weekend is lost, there seems to be a dramatic extension on the week. Perhaps being in camp elongates the week; nevertheless, the extra weekday in camp's schedule allows for evidently more to be accomplished. Were there two days each week for rest at camp, the amount of time to effectively achieve anything would be insufficient.

But should we move toward a six day week in the real world?
NO.
