Yesterday morning, the village of Onondaga woke up and ate breakfast as usual. At the end of the meal, our Unit Head, Lisa, and the Cayuga Unit Head, Gregg, announced that they had been spending too much time together as a newlywed couple and needed more time with their villages. This broke younger village days and the Onondagans raced back to their bunks, anxious for the surprises that awaited them.
The bus took our whole village to Trappers in Syracuse where the girls enjoyed delicious pizza as well as playing in their newcomb leagues on sand volleyball courts! Next, we were taken to the CNY Gymnastics Center in Shoppingtown Mall where we all had a great time rolling, flipping and running around. We then boarded the bus for another long trip, this time to Watkins Glen to race each other in go karting! After a few rounds of the racetrack, we headed back to camp for a private dinner in the dining hall, followed by an ice cream bar and dance party in the rain! Overall, Onondaga Day was a great success. The girls all had an awesome day spending quality time with the entire village, not just their own bunk and counselors. It was a fun bonding experience for all those involved!
Until next time!
