Hey everyone, my name is Jared Schapiro and I am a bunk counselor for M-6. The past day has been quite exciting here at CSL! Last night the CSL talent show, (Ye Olde) CAMPSTOCK, took place on the performing arts stage in the O-Rec. Even though yesterday was a dark and rainy day, many camper and staff performances made Campstock a shining moment for CSL in 2011. A vast array of Mohican talents were put on display last night, from Josh Fenster and Ben McCrindle performing a routine with their "Chinese Yo-Yo's" to the Noah Hammes, Avi Goldman and Matthew Hoffman trio that performed their rendition of "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars. And of course, there was a spot- on rendition of the classic song "Landslide," performed by the devilishly handsome Mohawk Staff.
Today (8/15), has also been a gloomy one, but here at CSL, we don't care about the weather. Whether it rains or shines (not thundering and lightening though) we go through our regularly scheduled periods, and now that the end of camp is near, the kids are as enthusiastic as ever. No one wants to leave, but they know that they have to make the most of their time here while they still can. The kids are having a blast, and as staff members that's the best thing we could possibly ask for.
As the summer comes to a close, I can positively say that this has been one of my most enjoyable summers here at Camp. But it's been great outside of the amazing periods and special events that have been programmed thus far. The constant positive energy and attitude displayed by all of our Mohican campers is what has made 2011 one of the most amazing summers in CSL history.
Given that there is less than one week left of the summer, it is unlikely that I will have the opportunity to blog again, so I'll take this opportunity to wish all of you a great rest of the summer and a happy and healthy school year.
All the best,
Jared
