Dear Cayuga families!
Today, after the color war fake-out of the century yesterday, got off to a surprisingly smooth start. The campers of C-5 went to table setting bright and early, while the rest of the Cayugans played baseball and roofball in the village before breakfast. After a delicious coffee cake meal, the campers headed back to the village to clean-up the bunks.
C-3 and C-5 then headed off to the pool for instructional swim, while C-4 and C-2 hit the ropes course. It was a humid morning, but the campers still found a way to be energetic (of course). C-5 then went to athletics with youngest Mohawk, engaging in a competitive powerball match. Powerball, for those of you who do not know, is essentially a combination between basketball and handball. The campers gave it their all on the court, but with a little help of their counselors, the oldest Cayugans came out on top against the youngest Mohicans. Like we say in our cheers, "We're from the 'Uge. We're hot. We can't be stopped!"
After a much needed rest hour, C-4 and C-5 journeyed over to the waterfront (Agam). The oldest Cayugans had a super-sail period with the waterfront staff, while C-4 had a double canoe period. Both bunks greatly enjoyed their time at the Agam, and with that came general swim.
It didn't take long for an impromptu Cayuga-Onondaga softball game to get started, thus furthering the younger boys and younger girls rivalry.
After general came village cookout where the Cayugans had an opportunity to watch the staff grill dinner. Following dinner came village night, a chance for the boys to make official CHL jerseys. The kids all had an incredible day, and we can't wait for tomorrow!
For now,
Alec Jacobson
