Tales From Tusc

Hello, from Washington DC!

The trip is winding down but it has truly been an amazing experience. Here is a break down of the last four days:

Day one:
We left camp and drove 5 and half hours to New Jersey for a Weezer and Flaming Lips concert. The kids danced the night away as the bands jammed out. We returned to our camp site and went right to sleep so we would be well rested for the big day to come.

Day two:
We packed up our camp site and took a short drive to Six Flags amusement park! All the rides were running and the Kinda Ka was especially popular among the campers. This ride is apparently the fastest and tallest roller coaster...in the world! We ended the night at a new campsite in Maryland and grilled up some hot dogs and hamburgers.

Day Three:
This day was a personal favorite. We ventured down to the beautiful Ocean City, Maryland. We were very fortunate to have perfect beach weather. The campers played in the white sand and splashed away in the ocean. It was a well deserved, relaxing day.

Day Four:
We loaded our bus and headed to our nations capital, Washington DC! The day commenced with a visit to the National Zoo and we then went to see the Nationals play the Mets. Now, I am writing this entry while sitting in front of the Washington monument, resting in its long shadow.

Tomorrow our trip will come to a close and we will head back to camp. This has truly been a wonderful time and it's been my pleasure to see all the kids enjoy themselves so much!
