A Great Time to be in Mohawk

Hey everyone! My name is Daniel Underberg, and I'm an activity counselor for M3. It truly is an awesome time to be in Mohawk right now--every bunk has been doing really exciting activities that is helping to bring the bunks and village closer together. Last night was the first bunk night of the session, and M1 did a blindfolded scavenger hunt that culminated in a campfire with the youngest Senecans. It was a great bonding experience, and the kids had a ton of fun. M3 and M5 participated in a rap battle, which went really well. The raps were extremely creative, and the kids loved it. Although the winner of the rap battle is yet to be determined, all participants did an excellent job. M7 participated in the traditional oldest Mohawk ritual of walking blindfolded to Gypsy Camp, which is a secluded campfire circle off of Camp Road. This activity helped the campers solidify their trust for each other, which is such an essential aspect of being an oldest Mohican, and it also served to reinforce the already strong sense of camaraderie and loyalty that the campers possess. The night culminated with Mohawk mass-monkeying Seneca, which truly brought the whole village together and allowed the oldest Mohicans to further their leadership abilities. For those who don't know, a mass monkey is when one village goes into another village, bangs on their cabins, does their cheers, and then returns to their own village. The Mohicans had a great time doing this. Today has been going great so far, with M1 and M3 at the ropes course and M5 and M7 at the waterfront. Thanks for reading, and we'll post again tomorrow!
