7/12 in the 'Uge

Dear Cayuga families,
As the two weeks come to a close, we look back on the wonderful times these Cayugans have had. From bunk night to slip-and-slide and everything in between, the Cayuga campers have certainly had an eventful session. Even so, there is still one more day here for the two weekers at this beautiful place that is Camp Seneca Lake.
Today began with a nice breakfast featuring English muffins and fruit that the campers gulped right up. Following breakfast, the Cayugans returned to the village to pick clothes up off the cabin floors, sweep and make beds. Within fifteen minutes, the cabins looked as fresh as they did on the first day.
C-1, C-3 and C-5 then headed off to ropes where they scaled to new heights and quite literally flew through the air. The youngest Cayugans and some middle Cayugans climbed the rock wall, while the oldest Cayugans and the rest of the middle bunk headed over to the flying squirrel. At the rock wall, every camper tested his limits, with most achieving the incredible feat of reaching the top. At the flying squirrel, campers got hoisted into the air one at a time as their peers helped raise them. It truly was a site to see the endless Cayugan smiles and laughter this morning.
After a delicious sloppy joe lunch, the campers rushed back to the village to escape the heat and “rest up” for the afternoon. This so called rest hour featured campers playing lacrosse, roofball and baseball. The energy here truly is limitless!
As the afternoon now approaches, the Cayugans will be headed to the pool and other various locations throughout camp to enjoy the wonderful day. Tonight is an all camp program, and it will surely be a great time for campers and counselors alike.
We are sad that the two weekers will be leaving tomorrow, but we hope that they will be back next year! They truly were a pleasure to have here.
All is well in the ‘Uge!

For now,
Alec Jacobson
