Today (Wednesday) was Seneca Day! Although I've been a Seneca camper for 6 sessions in the past, this S-day was a whole new experience for me.
As a staff member, I already knew what to expect logistically from the day. However, the girls' reactions to the zoo, to eating Gannon's ice cream, to a spy (or Egyptian tomb) adventure, and to just spending time shopping on Marshall Street in Syracuse was too perfect! The activities we did were unexpected in a good way, and the responsibility of looking after campers in such large public spaces was actually very hassle-free.
I couldn't have asked for better weather, a better group of campers, or a better staff who planned S-day! I even got an SU sweatshirt! Now we're headed back to Penn Yan for an electric violin concert, which I'm sure will be a great close to our day out.
I've seen so many S-girl smiles, and even overheard Jessica, an S-3 camper say, "this is the best S-day everrr!" That being said, I'm sure all the postcards from letter writing day tomorrow won't be disappointing.
That's all for now,
XOXO
