First day of hobbies!!! Woop! Woop!
The beginning of camp is always an exciting time; new faces, new activities, and a plethora of new sailers!
Sailing Hobby Group started our first day with icebreakers, a "how-to sail" land lesson, and some shallow water capsizing drills.
Of course no hobby session would be complete without some great sailing. While there wasn't much wind, we made the most of our afternoon with high-quality time on our Hobie Bravos and Getaways. All boats had a mix of beginner and advanced sailors as well as experienced staff members.
Everyone had a great time and returned to shore safely and excited for our next hobby session!
We also planned our hobby's culmination event, it's going to be really fun and educational!
Next time we will go over knots, upwind sailing, and right of way.
