Dear parents,
My name is Ari Neulander and this is my 10th summer at camp. I am an athletic activities counselor for middle Mohawk and so far the summer has been going great.
Yesterday was Mohawk's traditional basketball marathon where the whole village played basketball from 8am till 11pm. Though today everyone was extremely exhausted, overall the marathon went very well. We even had a special guest come and visit with the children, Kris Joseph, who is a current Syracuse University basketball all american. He was able to talk to the kids, answer questions, sign clothing and bags, play knockout, and even referee our 3 on 3 basketball championship game.
After this long and tiring day my bunk was able to relax for a little during 1st and 2nd period. We had super sail where everyone could go sailing on the lake and enjoy the beautiful day. Once we were done sailing and lunch was over, all campers went to their hobby groups 3rd and 4th periods which meet every couple of days. Tonight is shabbat where we all can enjoy some good food and reflect on the past week. My bunk is a great group of kids and I couldnt have asked for a better start to the summer.
