Pine Tree Post

Thursday was quite an exiting day! The campers woke up to the surprise that it was Cayuga Day. The all enjoyed a quick breakfast in the village of bagels and cereal. They then headed to the waterfront for a boat tour of the lake. They all piled into 9 boats that made up our fleet. During the tour they viewed the houses of famous people who live on Seneca Lake.

After that we headed for the buses and to an animal sanctuary out near Watkins Glenn. We all are lunch out on the lawn that consisted of an apple, granola bar, 2 sandwiches, chips, and a drink. The campers got to go around and pet different animals including pigs, cows, turkeys, and even goats. At the end of the tour they were provided with complimentary ice cream.

Following that, we got back on the buses and drove to Ithaca where we played football at Schoellkopf Field (Cornell's football stadium). One of the most unique football stadiums in the country.

Following that we went bowling at a nearby location and ate pizza. We then got on the bus for the last time that day and headed back to camp. When we got back to the village the campers were surprised once again with a candy party as they watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A movie that is one of my favorites all time. This is the 7th Cayuga Day I've been a part of as either a camper or staff and it was by far the best one ever.

I asked a few campers to tell me their favorite thing they did yesterday and this is what they said:

Oren B. : bowling
Owen M.: bowling
Oliver G.: bowling
Ben S.: football at Cornell
Ben W.: football at Cornell
Eli K.: movie and candy
