Here's the blog:
In the new and improved Cayuga Football League, sportsmanship is still evident even with the games being somewhat more competitive and difficult than the Cayuga Hockey League.
This sportsmanship has carried over into all different areas of camp.
Working at athletics, I am able to see these Cayugans outside of playing CFL, and playing other sports. In a GaGa game I was a referee for just the other day, there were countless occasions where different campers confronted each other, regardless of what alliance they were on, and initiated a learning experience on how to improve upon the play that had just occurred.
Once the game had completed, there were the handshakes that each player exchanged with one another. Matthew, an oldest Cayuga camper, personally went up to each player on the opposing team to congratulate all of them on playing a great game. "Good game," "You played amazing," "You are gonna do great in your next game," were just some of the words exchanged by him and other players.
Sportsmanship is alive and well in Cayuga, and there's nothing better to witness among these young men.
