Pine Tree Post

As the July session comes to a close, many aspects of camp are culminating. With these ends, one common theme is emanating throughout camp: unity. Two nights ago fight song ended with a surreal cohesion apparent in each village, and just yesterday hobbie group members and staff joined together to produce uniquely CSL culminations. Just as these different specialties are promoting close bonds, so too are periods fostering unity among bunks.

A prominent example of this unity occurred today during our triple period ropes session. Campers scaled the walls with finesse and speed as they challenged each other with increasingly faster times. The result of this competition was nothing of a rivalry, but instead a group effort to score the fastest time for Cayuga. The effort of the group produced an impressive time that rivaled that of the counselors and would not have been possible without encouragement. And, as a culmination to this period, one camper, tasked himself with ascending the wall blindfolded, a tasked that he accomplished in about 2 minutes. This period  demonstrated the progression of a bunk from being a group of kids to a unit, hardening back to the C-6 bunk name: C'eal Team 6.
