Pine Tree Post

Hey everyone,

My name is Omeed and I'm a counselor in C-1, the youngest Cayugan bunk. This morning my cabin was assigned to 'table setting,' a practice that is rotated among all cabins at CSL. At around 7:50 the 9 of us reported to the dining hall to set up all of the tables for breakfast. We placed a number of plates, pitchers of apple juice, and silverware, among others, around the room. C-1 then led the flag raising ceremony outside that included a morning prayer and a skit, which included  our count-off, inspired by a famous Peter Frampton song.
Me: "C-1 COUNTOFF"
Sam: DO
Max: YOU, YOU
Eli: FEEL
Asher: LIKE
Adam: I
Ari: DO
All of us: PETERRRRRR

Adam, Sam, and Eli then sang the birkat melodiously at the end of the meal.

As an waterfront activity counselor, I returned to the lake before attending Mohawk's all-day basketball marathon. I had an incredible experience DJing for the crowds of players on the court, as well as playing knockout with a few Mohekans. Now, as I write to you on a standalone bench outside Cayuga, I see a number of campers playing roofball and diablo. I envy them. I wish I could be a Cayugan for a day.

C-1 Activity Counselor
