Hawk Talk

The village yesterday had a wonderful time participating in the traditional Mohawk basketball marathon, this year it lasted an impressive 13 hours. Rarely has the marathon been this early on in the session (occurring on the 4th day of camp) but I believe that this made the event all the stronger. The energy that was brought by the campers started with the oldest bunks but was evident throughout the entirety of the village. It was a grueling day out on the courts but there was opportunity for every Mohawk to have a rest and relax throughout the event. But for every Mohican to take a break another was there to take his place. There were massive knockout games, king of the court, shooting and dunking contests, an 8 team elimination tournament and of course the occasional swim in the pool before getting back to the courts.

For the entirety of the 13 hours there was somebody on the courts dribbling and shooting. This is a tremendous effort that I can only believe will enhance the village's unity for the rest of the summer. I am looking forward to it.
